ABSTRACT
Management discussions and research findings on Organizational Citizenship
Behavior (OCB) relates to the organization’s environment. Evidence indicates that there
is a relationship with organizational rewards (Podsakoff & McKenzie, 1994) and greater
levels of importance (MacKenzie, Podsakoff, & Paine, 1998). With the exception of
researchers like Allison, Voss and Dryer (2001), application of the theory to the
classroom has been sparse. This study investigated Organizational Citizenship Behavior
in a classroom environment. The researchers hypothesized the impact of OCB on the
performance of the student research participants. To evaluate the hypotheses, structural
equation modeling was utilized. Implications, limitations and future research directions
were discussed.
