CHALLEGES IN THE MANAGEMENT OF DATA IN THE “BIG DATA” AGE

ABSTRACT
This study surveys the issues and challenges in the data management in the era of Big Data. The characteristics and current state of Big Data are reviewed. The managerial and technical issues are identified. Each issue is discussed and examined. Then, further research suggestions are provided. The issues identified include myth about big size, justification of Big Data economics, cultural change, privacy and security, need for an integrated data management framework, lack of talent and infrastructure technology limitation.
