ABSTRACT
If the way employees feel about their organizations can influence the performance of
organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) benefits, such as paid time off for volunteerism. It may
also influence whether employees engage in OCB. These tendencies may vary by national culture.
A survey was distributed to employed people in the US and UK. This study of 100 respondents in
the US and in the UK found that Sportsmanship can be influenced by paid time off for
volunteerism, but there is no connection to national culture. Recommendations for further study
are to compare countries that are culturally dissimilar and to measure other types of corporate
community involvement.
