ABSTRACT
This study examined the relationship between group cohesion and individual members’
affective commitment toward the organization and the impact of Leader Member Exchange (LMX)
as a moderator. Using data from “classroom teachers” in the k-12 environment as members, the
results revealed that the quality of relationship as measured by LMX significantly moderated the
relationship between the “level of group cohesion” and the “level of individual classroom teachers’
affective commitment”. This was evident when testing LMX at a composite scale level and when
testing at three out of four-dimension (subscales) levels.
Keywords: Group cohesion, affective commitment, Leader Member Exchange.
