ABSTRACT

This study examines the relationship between the leaders’ use of transformational
leadership (composite) and followers’ extra effort to find out if the levels (high and low) of servant
leadership moderate this relationship. This study also examines the relationship between the four
concepts of the transformational leadership (idealized influence leadership behaviors,
inspirational motivation leadership behaviors, individualized consideration leadership behaviors,
and intellectual stimulation leadership behaviors) and the followers’ extra effort to also find out if
the levels (high and low) of servant leadership moderate these relationships.
Using data from classroom teachers in the k-12 grade levels, the results revealed that
there is a significant relationship between transformational leadership (composite) and the
classroom teachers’ extra effort, moderated by the levels (high and low) of servant leadership
used by the campus leaders. It was also found that there are significant relationships between
three of the four concepts of transformational leadership and the classroom teachers’ extra effort,
moderated by the levels (high and low) of servant leadership used by the campus leaders.
