HOW DOES YOUR BUSINESS SCHOOL’S CORE CURRICULUM MEASURE UP TO THE BEST BUSINESS PROGRAMS’ CORE CURRICULUM IN 2024?

ABSTRACT

This study examines business core courses of schools receiving high rankings in both 2018-2019
and 2023-2024 from two or more of four national ranking surveys of undergraduate business
schools. The result is a list of 20 undergraduate business programs. An in-depth comparison of
these programs reveals a model business core. Authors thoroughly examined each ranked school’s
website to gather current (2023-2024 academic year) requirements for an undergraduate degree in
business. Actual course descriptions rather than simply course titles have been evaluated for each
course included in the business core. An additional analysis includes a comparison of
undergraduate programs at public and private schools.
