ABSTRACT
This study analyses the relationship between performance appraisal system and the
overall development of educators, through the assistance of training intervention programs that
are tailored for teacher development in secondary schools in the Ekurhuleni North district. The
outcome of this study showed that Performance Rating Scores of employees has a significant
relation with the Quality of performance Appraisal System implemented by the organization.
There was also an indication that Effectiveness of Training evaluation has a significant relation
with quality of Training intervention programs conducted by the organization. Brearly’s study is
justified by the empirical analysis that there is a positive correlation between teacher’s evaluation
results and teacher development when the performance appraisal system is implemented with
fairness and accuracy.
