STRATEGIES FOR SELF-LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: AN EXAMPLE OF THE U.S. COAST GUARD ACADEMY

ABSTRACT

The study discusses how student learning and development of 21st century leaders can be achieved both inside and outside the classroom to ensure that the graduates are prepared to meet the challenges they will face throughout their professional careers and lives. The study also presents specific examples of self-leadership training practices and educational activities that have been successfully implemented and used in an undergraduate program at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, which is one of the five military service academies in the US.
